Timing wise, we feel pretty lucky as most of this equipment was selected and ordered in early 2020, well before the supply chain disruption that is being felt in 2021! Marlow staged the majority of the equipment going in to Steppin’ Out at their yard in Florida, then shipped it in containers over to the plant to be installed. The shipping process at that time was taking about 5 weeks once it left the port in Florida for the container to make it over to the factory. Those lead times for equipment and shipping have increased exponentially!
For propulsion, we’ve chosen the MAN V-8 1200 HP diesel engines with ZF transmissions connected to the Sea Torque shaft system. For power generation, we’re gone with Kohler 24kw diesel generators.
