Wow – look at the size of those domes! Yea, they are big and all the better to catch all the sports action on our long passages! These will house the Sat TV antenna in one dome and the other will be a “dummy” dome that we’ll use to house various GPS antenna’s, electronic heading sensors and other components to keep them out of the weather and protected. Plus it makes the top deck “cleaner” and less cluttered than if they were all scatted across the deck.
You’ll also find the bracket that they’ve welded in to the stainless railing on the upper aft deck that will house our life raft. A Switlik offshore life raft that has 24 sq ft of floor space and 1350 lbs. of buoyancy. Hopefully, we’ll never need this but it’s there just in case!
We’ve reconfigured the bow seating making it a bit smaller by adding “arm rests” on either end to hold drink glasses, plates, snacks, etc. We also removed the standard table so that if we were to get hit with a “rogue” wave, there isn’t a table to worry about getting ripped off the deck and creating a bigger issue below!
Finally, the lights are on in the engine room! That’s a beautiful sight!
