Autumn Aloft

Whooo's up!

On Friday, September 17th, our friends called to say they had an “invasion” of hot air ballon’s in their backyard! Now, their backyard looks out onto a golf course so I grabbed my camera and ran over to see what was going on!

On the way over, I stopped above a ridge line as the valley below was filled with hot air ballon’s hovering just above the golf course. It was about 8:30 am in the morning so the sun was bright, the temperature was about 50 degree’s and the air was still. Perfect conditions to fly a balloon I’m told!

Every year, Park City holds their “Autumn Aloft” weekend where dozen’s of balloons come from all over the state to participate. This was a “practice run” for the weekend and I’m glad I ran over to capture these shots cause the weekend ending up having rain and high winds that ended up cancelling the event for the second year in a row. 🙁
